Lord Nelson Beach Hotel

Cedar Grove
Antigua
British West Indies
Historically, the Lord Nelson Beach Hotel was the first beachfront hotel in Antigua, built in the 1950s by Nick Fuller, who came to Antigua as a member of the U.S. counsel. He loved the island and determined to remain. The hotel served as the backdrop to raising a large family, and today is operated by grandchildren of the original builder. After being destroyed by a hurricane in 1996, today's Lord Nelson Beach Hotel has been reestablished, and is particularly popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers because of the excellent conditions on the nearby beach. It offers a laid-back atmosphere and an excellent location on the northeastern shore of the island. The on-site windsurfing shop offers equipment and lessons, while snorkeling and reef eco-tours are readily available. The Lord Nelson Beach Hotel is the kind of place that treats visitors like long-time family friends, offering history and information passed down from generations of island living.
