For charm, convenience, and tropical tranquility, a visit to the Boardwalk Vacation Retreat takes care of all three. Just a short walk from the beach and near several major sports centers, the Boardwalk offers 13 casitas (literally, "little houses") sprinkled among tropical gardens on a former coconut plantation. Most are garden-view rooms, with one ocean-view room. Eleven one-bedroom and two two-bedroom units come completely furnished with spacious bedrooms outfitted with down comforters in tropical print covers. The décor combines elegance with casual. Comfortable living rooms adjoin complete kitchens equipped with full-size refrigerators, stove, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, blender, utensils, glassware, and cutlery. Rooms offer air conditioning, telephone, Internet access, cable TV, a video player, hot showers, daily maid service, and a selection of books and videos to borrow. If you haven't finished your book, the Boardwalk offers a relaxed view-just take it with you, and leave one behind for someone else if you have one. Private patios offer BBQ grills for the cook, and rest and relaxation on teak furniture or a secluded, private hammock. Lush, surrounding gardens and a free-shaped swimming pool, kid's pool, and Jacuzzi provide an excellent retreat for guests of all ages. Babysitting services are available.
At the front office of the Boardwalk, a windsurf shop is stocked with a Neil Pryde line of products such as sails, masts, booms, harnesses; Bic, JP Australia and Cabrinha & Takoon Kites. Windsurf packages are available. During high season, the Boardwalk invites guests to a Thursday night windsurfing dinner party, converting the parking area to an open-air dining terrace. There, compliments of Vela Windsurf Center, diners enjoy watching a creative display of the day's windsurfing action on video. Guests may also enjoy breakfast and lunch delivery through an arrangement with the nearby Bread Boutique. Guests have free use of the next-door Aruba Racquet Club facilities, including eight lighted hard court tennis courts, a volleyball/basketball court, a practice (tennis) wall, swimming pool, gym, children's playground, bar and restaurant.

Child Policy:
Children under 12 years old stay for free, are not considered extra persons.
Cancellation Policy:
If your reservation is cancelled 60 or more days prior to scheduled arrival date, your deposit, minus 10% (of the deposit) for administration charges, will be refunded.
Cancellations between 60 and 14 days prior to arrival lead to forfeiture of complete deposit. Reservations cancelled 14 days or less prior to arrival, and no-shows, incur a 100% cancellation penalty (all room nights charged including tax).
Note to Smokers:
There are no designated smoking or non smoking casitas. However, with the air-conditioning and filters that hold on to the smoke, the hotel asks that you please do not smoke inside your casita as a courtesy to those who will be staying there after you leave. So if you smoke, it would be appreciated if you would enjoy your cigarette, cigar or pipe while outside on the patio.
