The Arutam Hotel is a small, popular hotel that fills up quickly so early booking is advised. The hotel is located west of Fortaleza on the edge of Cumbuco, right near the beach. Part of its charm lies in its nine fully equipped suites, each decorated with handmade furniture and thematic decorations such as “Afrika,” “Colonial,” “Indiano” or “Amazonas.” The grounds are well-maintained tropical gardens, amid which a pool with a waterfall splashes a welcome. The delightful hotel restaurant serves local and Italian specialties, and the bar offers day and night refreshment. A small gym and beauty spa are on the premises, including a massage area. The attentive staff speaks Portuguese, German, English, and Italian.
