Algarve Watersport Camp / Activelement Outdoorsport LDA is located at one of the best and most beautiful surf spots at the Algarve, Portugal.
No other place in Europe offers better conditions for all kinds of watersports: 300 days of sun per year, water temperatures around 20°C and never less than 15°C even in January, consistent Atlantic waves, lots of wind, many spots on the west and south coasts, and the most beautiful beaches on the European continent.
No matter if you are a beginner or a pro the Algarve will provide great conditions for your ultimate watersport experience.
Conditions
The Algarve is known to be a great spot for surfing. The swell window wider than 180° allows finding waves at any time during the year, and lots of great beach- and reef-breaks offer perfect conditions for beginners to pros.
Less known is that the coastline also offers very good conditions for kiteboarding and wakeboarding, which is why we set up our multi-watersport camp at this unique place. The mornings are calm and glassy for surfing on the west coast or wakeboarding in the south, then at noon the wind picks up—excellent for kiteboarding. Beginners and Freestylers prefer the shallow lagoons while the waveriders use the kite to ride the waves with sideshore wind.
Camp Location
The Algarve-Watersport Camp is located only 5 minutes from Arrifana, one of the best and most beautiful surf spots at the Algarve. Monte Clerigo and Amoreira are also nearby, allowing the BSA-certified staff to provide transport to the best working spot within a few minutes. For kite- and wakeboarding the camp-bus takes guests to a calm and shallow lagoon on the south coast.
The camp can accommodate 12 in a double or dorm rooms. The day starts with a healthy breakfast and for the rest of the day our guests are free to use our big, well-equipped kitchen to fix their own meals or to visit one of the nearby restaurants and bars for some great Portuguese cuisine. After a day in the water campers can relax on the sundeck or hammocks, have a match of beach-volleyball on the field behind the surf-house or fire up the grill for a nice relaxed BBQ. Guests can also check emails or surf the net in the lounge through wi-fi or watch the latest surf-films and movies on the video projector. For the die-hard sport enthusiast we offer mountain bike rental, horse riding and rock climbing.
The staff of Algarve Watersport consists of experienced and well-trained watersport instructors with great knowledge of the local conditions. They are certified by the British Surfing Association (BSA) and VDWS/IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation) and provide top-notch tuition for surfing, kiteboarding and wakeboarding in English, German and Portuguese. Guests have a great choice of new equipment from leading brands, like NSP, Bic, O´Neill, Prolimit, Cabrinha, Best Kiteboarding, O´Brien and Liquid Force. For the wakeboarding we use the legendary Mastercraft X-Star, the official tow-boat of the X-Games. The wake of this boat is huge, you can even surf it!

Surfcamps are aimed at complete beginners, inexperienced surfers or intermediate surfers:
