With almost three decades of providing the best of what Nassau can offer, Stuart Cove’s Aqua Adventures has earned a worldwide reputation as being one of the best diving centers, offering quality, world-class diving adventures and utilizing high-tech and modern equipment.
Besides diving, Stuart Cove’s Aqua Adventures is also Nassau’s premier water-based attraction and is staffed by world class, professional and licensed personnel. It has three divisions offering tourists various activities on the island—Dive Bahamas, Snorkel Bahamas and SUB Bahamas—and two more divisions caterings to specialized underwater services: Fin Photo and Stuart Cove’s Underwater Productions.
Dive Bahamas
Dive Bahamas is the company’s full-service dive center. It opened in 1978 and now has a fleet of ten vessels, with eight boats of over 40 feet in length. The center, located on the southwest side of New Providence Island, caters to all levels of divers, from beginners to experts. Dive Bahamas offers a variety of diving courses and packages, from a 3-hour “Learn to Dive Program†for beginners who wish to learn scuba diving up to “Adventure Dives†featuring Shark Adventure and Wall Flying Adventure dives.
Snorkel Bahamas
Snorkel Bahamas caters to Nassau visitors who wish to explore the underwater paradise first-hand, offering guests a chance to visit three locations on a single voyage. The first underwater stop features feeding the fish in a shallow reef where the fish swarm around the snorkeler. The second dive spot involves visiting either a shipwreck of a 200-foot tanker in only 40 feet of water or one of the wrecks used to make the James Bond films For Your Eyes Only and Never Say Never Again. Weather permitting, the third optional dive stop takes snorkelers to shark-infested waters to observe sharks feeding at the bottom of the ocean.
SUB Bahamas
SUB Bahamas is Nassau’s newest underwater activity, utilizing a personal SUB (Scenic Underwater Bubble) for taking tourists on an underwater scenic tour. The SUB resembles a motorcycle with a giant bubble on top. Passengers sit on the “bike”, their heads inside the bubble with fresh air supplied by scuba equipment on board the SUB, and are taken on a tour to a beautiful shallow reef.
FIN Photo
FIN Photo offers full-service underwater photography and videography service, and is located on the docks of Stuart Cove’s. They offer underwater video coverage for all diving adventures, films, one-time use of underwater cameras and rental of underwater digital cameras and video equipment.
Stuart Cove’s Underwater Productions
Finally, Stuart Cove’s Underwater Productions offers marine location production work for photo shoots, television commercials, television documentaries and feature films. High profile publications ranging from Playboy to Forbes have shot photo spreads on the docks and in the water.
Major television networks have also used Stuart Cove’s services for filming documentaries that featured diving or sharks.
Feature films call for beautiful underwater and topside island locations. Many of them also call for dangerous underwater stunts to be performed. Both are offered by Stuart Cove’s. Feature credits include four James Bond films—For Your Eyes Only, Never Say Never Again, The World Is Not Enough and Casino Royale. Our recent feature jobs include Into the Blue, After the Sunset, Pirates of the Caribbean II, Ocean Men, Spy Kids, Deep Blue Sea, and Speed 2. Other notable feature jobs include Splash and Cocoon. The 1995 film Flipper starring Paul Hogan and Elijah Wood was filmed completely at Stuart Cove’s property.
